It was a day to forget for risk assets on Monday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 closing 0.7% lower amid weak U.S. trading.

Oil prices eased a bit in the later afternoon hours to near $93 a barrel, but still firmly higher during the day as supply concerns still linger.

Bitcoin BTC$83,696.96 clawed back some ground from its session lows, changing hands near $82,700 recently.

Crypto-related stocks also nursed losses, with Securitize extending its decline to 14%.

Miners, whose fortunes are now tied as much to the AI infrastructure and data center buildout as to bitcoin mining, were broadly lower. Bitdeer (BTDR), Cipher Mining CIFR, TeraWulf WULF and HIVE Digital HIVE all nursed losses of roughly 3% to 4%.

Tokenization firm Securitize extended losses to 14%

Bitcoin BTC$83,696.96 has slipped further during the U.S. trading session, hitting a session low of near $82,300 in a weak afternoon trading for risk assets.

Ether ETH$2,532.21 has now given back all its overnight gains, holding above $2,500 level by a thread.

The two largest cryptocurrencies lost 1.6% and 1.3%, respectively, over the past 24 hours. Other crypto majors including XRP, Solana (SOL) and Hyperliquid’s HYPE were also down 3%-4% during the same period.

A mid-day check on the U.S. stock market shows most crypto-related stocks nursing losses, with tokenization firm Securitize (SECZ) leading the selling.

The firm’s shares fell more than 10% by midday, giving up most of the recent bounce fueled influential investment research firm Citrini's report featuring the company as one of the biggest beneficiary of Wall Street bringing equities onto blockchain rails.

Elsewhere, digital custodian BitGo BTGO and institutional-focused exchange Bullish BLSH both slipped about 3%. USDC issuer Circle CRCL, bitcoin holder Strategy MSTR and ether treasury Bitmine BMNR nursed modest declines. Coinbase COIN held up with a 0.5% gain.
